National Children's
Study Announces Plans for Launching in More Communities
The National Children's Study (Study) is
moving forward, and broadening its reach to a number of new
communities across the United States. In September 2005 the
Study opened seven initial
Vanguard Centers. With the 2007 expansion, the Study plans
to establish 15 to 20 new Study Centers in previously
designated Study locations across the country.
To this end, the National Institute of
Child Health and Human Development is planning to allocate
recently appropriated funds from Congress for fiscal year 2007
to award up to 20 contracts to organizations having the
ability to serve as Study Centers for the National Children's
Study. The Institute has posted an announcement to inform
interested organizations of an anticipated Request for
Proposals (RFP), of important background information, and of
some requirements essential for responding to the RFP.
